A major knee injury, lengthy rehab and his subsequent banishment to the furthest end of AC Milan's bench haven't left U.S. national team center back Oguchi Onyewu with much to be happy about over the past 18 months.So it's no surprise the 28-year-old seemed ecstatic after playing 90 minutes and scoring a goal in a friendly against a German fourth-division club.
Making his first appearance with FC Twente since signing a loan deal earlier in the week, Onyewu went the distance and nodded home a corner kick during the Dutch champion's 2-2 draw with Sportfreunde Lotte on Saturday.
He tweeted afterward: "First friendly match with FC Twente, and your boy has already notched his first goal! We tied 2-2. Back on track! God is GREAT!!! BLESS!!!"
