Wigan beat Man City with wonderful late header to win their first FA Cup

While trying to avoid relegation yet again in the Premier League, Wigan completed a massive upset against Manchester City to win their first FA Cup. With the score still 0-0, City defender Pablo Zabaleta was sent off in the 84th minute for a bad challenge on Callum McManaman. With the man advantage, Wigan's only substitute, Ben Watson, scored the match's only goal in the first minute of injury time to give his side the unexpected silverware.

Before the match began, there was a fresh round of speculation about City manager Roberto Mancini's job security and losing to Wigan in the FA Cup final probably didn't help his cause. For Wigan chairman Dave Whelan, who will tell anyone who will listen that he broke his leg while playing for Blackburn in their 1960 FA Cup final loss to Wolverhampton, it was literally a dream come true. From ITV:

"I thought we would get Man City in the final and win 1-0," he said on ITV Sport. "The dream has come true. I'm repaid for 1960 when I broke my leg and we lost the match."

Wigan won't have much time to celebrate this momentous occasion as they face Arsenal on Tuesday in the first of the two matches they have left to save themselves from relegation. But until then, it's time to party. Here are some pictures from the match...
