Napoli boycotted Supercoppa Italiana ceremony after three sent off

Juventus beat Napoli 4-2 after extra time in the Supercoppa Italiana and the Azzurri were so upset about being reduced to nine men without their manager near the end of the first 90 minutes that they walked out on the post-match ceremony. Goran Pandev was sent off after arguing with officials in the 73rd minute, Juan Zuniga followed him back to the dressing room after a second yellow during injury time and manager Walter Mazzarri was sent off for arguing the first two decisions before extra time. Juventus went on to score twice more (including a Napoli own goal) before the final whistle.

After the match, Napoli were in no mood for parties. From Football Italia:

In extra time,Juventusemerged 4-2 winners, but Napoli went back into the locker room and refused to come back out for the presentation ceremony.

They did not receive their runner-up medals, so onlyJuventuslined up to receive the trophy. ThePartenopeialso announced they would not be talking to the media.

Last month, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis threatened to pull his team from this match out of fear that traveling all the way to China would be a "crazy journey and pointless stress." Maybe this time Aurelio was actually right for once.
