From the "regrettable things Wojciech Szczesny tells print publications that can't be deleted" file comes another diamond. Before the start of Euro 2012, Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was apparently feeling so confident that he told a newspaper "I'll be drinking champagne in Kiev after we win the final." It was an incredibly Wojciech Szczesny thing to say -- especially before a match in which he made a few dreadful mistakes, got sent off and almost handed a win to 10-man Greece had it not been for back-up keeper Przemyslaw Tyton saving a penalty with his first touch of the game.
Though the resulting draw will likely be enough to keep Szczesny's champagne dreams alive, he'll have the free time to go to Kiev (or anywhere else) and have a drink even before the final since his red card-induced ban will keep him out of Poland's big match against Russia.
