Sunderland fan gets tattoo of Paolo Di Canio knee-slide celebration

With six games remaining in the 2012-13 Premier League season, Sunderland desperately needed a win against fierce local rivals Newcastle to steer clear of the relegation zone. Against all odds, the Black Cats managed a 3-0 win at St James Park, led by their new talismanic and definitely-not-a-fascist manager Paolo Di Canio.

It was a crucial victory that will live long in the memory of Sunderland fans, particularly those who are staring at the left shoulder of the man who has had a commemorative tattoo of the suit-ruining knee-slide celebration the Italian coach instinctively pulled off when Adam Johnson's goal went in.

As far as fan tattoos of admired managers go, it's right up there with the Danish mailman's surprised Heynckes calf and the Dortmund supporter's angry Klopp back. Except that it lists Sunderland as the home team, when they were actually the visitors. And that it looks more like the late, great Pete Postlethwaite than a former referee-shoving striker. And that the unfortunate crease of his pants makes it appear that, well, he is dressed to the right and the left.
