Brazilian defender makes goal-line clearance, breaks goal

A match between Brazilian Serie B clubs Chapecoense and Criciuma was stopped for half an hour after it collapsed on top of Criciuma defender Fabio Ferreira. In the second half, Chapecoense's Rodrigo Gral had a clear shot on goal but the keeper blocked it with his legs. On the rebound, Gral headed it towards the post and Ferreira swooped in to make an off-balance goal-line clearance before falling into the net. And when he did so, the posts popped out and fell back on top of him.

According to Globo, it took a half an hour for the goal to be replaced so the match could resume. Though the incident could have been avoided when he noticed that the post came loose shortly after halftime. Chapecoense ended up winning 1-0 thanks to a goal scored before everything started falling apart.
