Brazilian prostitutes are learning English for the Confederations Cup and World Cup

The 2014 World Cup is fast approaching and the Confederations Cup will take place this summer, so there is little time left forpreparationsto be made ahead of the two tournaments. With that in mind, the more industrious prostitutes of Belo Horizonte, which will host three Confederations Cup matches and six World Cup games, are signing up for English classes so they can maximize their sexy-time profits from visiting fans and dignitaries.

From the AP:

Cida Vieira, president of the Association of Prostitutes in the city of Belo Horizonte, said Tuesday that 20 have already signed up for the courses and she expects at least 300 of the group's 4,000 members to follow suit. The association is organizing the classes and seeking volunteer teachers.

''I don't think we will have problems persuading English teachers to provide services for free,'' she said. ''We already have several volunteer psychologists and doctors helping us.''

According to Vieira, the classes will begin in March and last eight months and if all goes well, they might include other languages to ensure the prostitutes can do their job -- which is legal in Brazil -- to the best of their abilities.

''It will be important for the girls who will be able to use English to let their clients know what they are charging and learn about what turns them on,'' Vieira said by telephone.

''And for the same reasons we are also thinking of offering free French and Italian classes,'' she added.

So with the prostitutes preparing for the big events, their prospective clients should probably start doing some research of their own to make sure they get exactly what they're interested in and avoid incidents like Ronaldo's transvestite debacle.
