Solskjaer regrets scoring 1999 CL final winner so fast

Three minutes into added time and two minutes after Teddy Sheringham's equalizer, 81st minute sub Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored the goal that gave Manchester United a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final (and the treble). It was pretty much the kind of moment every player dreams of, but it's also one that Solskjaer kind of regrets.

From Four Four Two:

"When Teddy Sheringham equalised in injury-time I thought: 'Fantastic, I'll play 30 minutes of extra-time and it'll be a great experience for me. Then I went and ruined it by scoring," he says in the official programme for the 2011 Champions League Final.

Sad trombone. What a humble brag! That's like someone saying they wish they didn't hit the jackpot so fast because they wanted to play the slot machine longer. Even though I haven't seen the rest of the 2011 Champions League final program, I'm declaring this the best line of the whole thing.
