DTotD: Retired St. Pauli midfielder breaks goalkeeper?s nose during German charity game

While Gabi Agnonlahor was committing vomit-inducing tackles on members of One Direction in Glasgow on Sunday, a nasty incident occurred in another charity match in Germany.

A crowd of around 26,000 fans gathered at FC St. Pauli's Millerntor-Stadion to see the ninth edition of the 'Tag der Legenden' ('Day of legends'), which was contested between a Hamburg XI and a Germany XI. Participants included Lothar Matthus, Jrgen Klopp, Michael Ballack and F1 legend Michael Schumacher.

Around ?260,000 was generated to help disadvantaged youths in the district of Hamburg, but the fun and games of the afternoon were overshadowed by a first half incident in which the nose of former Wolfsburg goalkeeper Claus Reitmaier connected with the forehead of retired St. Pauli midfielder Michl Mazingu-Dinzey.

The result? Dinzey lacerated his face to end up looking like Patrick Bateman, while Reitmaier broke his nose and required immediate surgery.

Here's how the 49-year-old shot stopper looked shortly after the incident...

DT apologises for making you look at that. To help recover from the ocular trauma, please take a few moments to look at Jrgen Klopp's driving face...

Klopp was part of the Germany XI that won the match 4-3, and he was coached by Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer, the man who helped poach Mario Gtze away from BvB. That must have a little awkward.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
