Sir Alex bows to the fans with Man Utd on verge of 19th title

It only took Chicharito 37 seconds to score as Manchester United took advantage of an abysmal first half from Chelsea in their all important "title decider" on Sunday. Man United still need one little point from their last two matches against Blackburn and Blackpool before they can fully claim their record 19th title. That certainly seems like a foregone conclusion, but in a Premier League season with no truly great teams and so many slip-ups and back from the dead performances, who knows.

Still, at the risk of invoking another twist that makes everyone look silly, it seems Man United finally have this all wrapped up. Chelsea tried to fight back in the second half, but only managed one goal from Frank Lampard amidst a bunch of missed chances from the home side to put the final score at 2-1. Regardless of how close (or not) the game was, though, it's amazing that Chelsea, who were 18 points back at one point and reportedly almost sacked Carlo Ancelotti about 875 times, even had a shot at the title coming into today.

Once the final whistle blew, Sir Alex Ferguson jumped around like a giddy schoolboy who just discovered the existence of internet pornography. Then, having calmed down a bit (but still too happy to bark complaints about referee decisions), he bowed down to the Stretford End.

Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, did this...

This time, The Eyebrow just wasn't quite magic enough.
